I’m still in the process of getting this site going and need to fill out my collection of 125×125 ads on the right part of the layout. Strangely enough, not many people provide pre-made 125×125 ads for inclusion on a blog. That changed today.
Now that I’m an official Aweber affiliate, I checked out the banner section in the affiliate backend. Sure enough, there was a 125×125 banner ad avaialble. So, in about 30 seconds of template editing, I have my first ad on the site.
Maybe the title of this post should be “Make it as EASY as possible for people to promote your site”. Either way, I think you get the point. If you’re selling something, or offering an affiliate program, make it as easy as possible for your evangelists to promote you. I probably would have forgot about aweber as a potential ‘advertister’ if I wasn’t able to find their ad right away and simply post it into my blog.
One thing - currently, the image is loading from their servers which makes the blog run a bit slower. In the next day or so I’ll copy the image to my own server and simply make the link go to my affiliate link on aweber instead. That will increase load time and improve the overall quality of my site.
